About Filmathon

Filmmaking has always moved with technology – from cameras to digital filmmaking, VFX to virtual production. Every new tool has changed the frame a little: how we build worlds, direct a scene, and turn an idea in our heads into something people can watch.

Google Flow is part of that next chapter.

Flow is an AI filmmaking tool that helps creators develop cinematic clips, scenes and stories using Google’s generative AI models. You can experiment with visual ideas, characters, environments, camera movement, mood and pacing – then keep shaping the film until it starts to feel like yours.

Meet your new creative collaborator.

Google Flow is an AI-powered filmmaking tool built for creators.

It lets you turn prompts into cinematic visuals, test out scenes, create characters and environments, and keep refining your idea through different stages of the filmmaking process.

Bring the first image in your head to life – whether it’s a character, a world or one very specific moment.

Play with camera movement, framing, perspective and visual language.

Take individual clips and shape them into scenes, sequences and stories.

Try, tweak, reframe and keep going until the film starts looking like the one you imagined.

Tell a story only you could tell

The Challenge

Create an original short film of up to 5 minutes, using Google Flow as part of your filmmaking process.

There’s no prescribed genre. Make a drama, comedy, thriller, romance, science fiction, documentary, animation, experimental film, fantasy, horror – or something that is completely, unmistakably you.

Bring your references, your sense of humour, your observations, your visual taste. The tool can open up the frame. What goes inside it is still your call.

What matters is the story, your creative voice, and how you make Google Flow part of your process.
