About the Program (For Applicant Reference)

WIF India, in partnership with impACT Lab – Marché du Film, will select two women producers from India to participate in the impACT Lab, taking place during the Marché du Film, Cannes (13–18 May 2026).

  • Online workshops:
    • 3 sessions
    • Late April / Early May 2026: 21 April (Tuesday), 28 April (Tuesday) and 5 May (Tuesday) India Time 5:30 pm IST 
    • 2 hours each
  • On-site workshops in Cannes:
    5 sessions (Between 14-18 May 2026)
    13–18 May 2026 (Possibility to attend Producers’ Network, first come first served basis for breakfast meetings)

This is an exclusive, closed program curated for a limited number of international emerging producers.

  • Navigating Cannes and presenting yourself effectively 
  • Marketing and audience strategies for impact-driven films 
  • Equity and revenue strategies for impact content 
  • Sustainable production practices and impact measurement 
  • Using AI tools for production and festival strategies 

Producers Network Access

The two selected producers will also receive exceptional access to the Producers Network (13–18 May 2026), including:

  • Daily Breakfast Meetings with international industry decision-makers
  • Producers Network opening cocktail
  • Closing party
  • Case studies, networking cocktails, and workshops at the Producers Club

 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must have produced a minimum of two short films and provide viewing links (with passwords where applicable).
  • Applicants should currently be DEVELOPING THEIR FIRST FEATURE-LENGTH FILM. The project must be in the development stage, meaning filming has not yet begun and the team remains open to finding co-producers. Projects that are mid-filming, in post-production, completed, or release-ready are not eligible.
  • Submit a single consolidated pitch deck including:
    • Director’s note
    • Producer’s note
    • Synopsis
    • Treatment (maximum 15 pages)
    • Budget
    • Viewing links to previous short films
  • Upload the FIRST PAGE of you feature film script with SWA Registration stamp.
  • Applicants must not have previously attended the Marché du Film, Cannes in any capacity.
  • Applicants should demonstrate a clear intent to pursue international co-production.
  • Applicants should show a commitment to sustainable independent filmmaking.
  • Applicants should hold a valid Indian Passport

Shortlisted Delegates Will Receive:

  • 5 days of access to the Marché du Film, Cannes impACT Lab 2026 X WIF India. – Access to the Impact lab and the cannes film festival 
  • The delegation package – return airfare, paid hotel – shared accommodation, and official accreditation for the festival.

Please note: Visa fee, Meals, and local transportation within Cannes (outside of official conference travel) will be at your own expense.

Project Financing (Optional but Recommended)

Applicants may share details of the current financing status of their feature film project, including whether any funding has been secured and the sources of financing, if applicable. Applicants may also indicate the approximate percentage of financing secured (recommended minimum 20%, not mandatory).

APPLICANT DECLARATION AND UNDERTAKING

I, the undersigned applicant (the “Applicant”), in connection with my submission of any and all materials, including concepts, project ideas, pitches, scripts, literary works, audio-visual materials, images, documents, data or any other content etc (collectively, the “Submitted Materials”) in consideration of the opportunity to have my application reviewed and to potentially participate in the impACT Lab 2026 program at Marché du Film, Cannes, in collaboration with Women in Film India (together, the “Organizer”, which term shall include its partners, officers, employees, representatives, agents and assigns), hereby acknowledge, declare, confirm and undertake as follows:

I confirm that the Submitted Materials are being provided by me voluntarily and entirely of my own free will, and that the Organizer has not solicited, requested, commissioned or otherwise induced me to submit the Submitted Materials. I understand that the submission of the Submitted Materials does not create any obligation on the part of the Organizer and the Organizer makes no promise, representation or guarantee whatsoever regarding the same.

I further represent and warrant that the Submitted Materials submitted by me are wholly original to me or that I possess all necessary rights, permissions, licenses and authority to submit the Submitted Materials. I confirm that the Submitted Materials do not infringe or violate any copyright, moral right, trademark, privacy right, publicity right or any other intellectual property or proprietary right of any person or entity whatsoever. I further confirm that I am the sole and absolute owner of the Submitted Materials or otherwise fully authorized to submit them, and that the Submitted Materials are free from any claims, encumbrances, liens or other restrictions.

I acknowledge and undertake that I bear complete responsibility and accountability for the Submitted Materials provided by me. I agree that the Organizer is not required to conduct, and has not conducted, any independent investigation, verification or due diligence with respect to the Submitted Materials.

I acknowledge that the Organizer may already have (a) received submissions from other persons, (b) developed or commissioned materials independently or through third parties, or (c) currently be developing or may in the future develop ideas, stories, formats, concepts or projects that may be similar or identical to the materials submitted by me. I understand that such similarities may arise through independent creation, coincidence, or through submissions received from other sources. Accordingly, I agree that I shall not at any time make or assert any claim, demand or allegation (monetary or otherwise) against the Organizer in relation to any such similarity or alleged use, including any claim of violation of copyright, intellectual property rights or any other rights in connection with the materials submitted by me.

I understand and acknowledge that submission of the Submitted Materials does not guarantee selection, participation, recognition or any future opportunity of any nature whatsoever, and that all decisions regarding review, evaluation or selection shall remain at the sole discretion of the Organizer. I agree that the Organizer shall not be liable under any circumstances for any loss of opportunity, expectation, or any direct or indirect damages arising from or relating to my submission or from any decision not to select or proceed with the Submitted Materials.

I further acknowledge and agree that the Organizer shall not be responsible for any loss, leak, theft, unauthorized access or damage to the Submitted Materials, whether submitted electronically, digitally or physically, at any stage of submission, review or thereafter.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I hereby irrevocably release and discharge the Organizer from any and all present or future claims, demands, liabilities, losses, damages, costs or expenses arising out of or in connection with the Submitted Materials, the submission, review or evaluation thereof, the non-selection of my submission, or any similarities between the Submitted Materials and any other works or materials developed or used by the Organizer. I further agree that neither I nor any of my heirs, successors, representatives or assigns shall initiate or maintain any claim, action or proceeding against the Organizer in relation to the matters described herein.

I confirm that I am above the age of eighteen (18) years, of sound mind and am legally competent to make this declaration and undertaking. I further confirm that I have read and understood the contents of this declaration in full and that I voluntarily agree to be bound by the same.
